Every year RootsTech brings together genealogists, archivists, and family history enthusiasts from around the world. Organized by FamilySearch, the event has become one of the most important gatherings for anyone interested in discovering, preserving, and sharing family history. RootsTech and the FamilySearch Tradition
FamilySearch itself is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often referred to as the Mormon Church. For more than a century the church has invested heavily in preserving genealogical records. Their efforts have resulted in one of the largest collections of historical records ever assembled, with millions of documents digitized and made available to researchers worldwide.
RootsTech grew out of this long tradition of preservation and collaboration. The conference now attracts participants from dozens of countries and highlights new technologies, research methods, and initiatives that help people uncover their family history.
